Before we head into 2021, let's take a look at the bigger picture. Our first item is a round-up of 2020. In this retrospective, we go over the most exciting digital European projects the Building Blocks have been involved in. We also see how the Building Blocks realise the Berlin Declaration on Digital Society and Value-based Digital Government.

In our latest success story, we consider the steel industry. In any commodity industry, every gain in efficiency is key for staying competitive. Thanks to CEF eDelivery, the EDI4Steel Consortium is giving the steel industry an extra edge with a solution for the automated exchange of important documents and data. This helps them cut costs and ensure operations run as smoothly as possible.

We also explore how the CEF Building Blocks can be used in combination to address big priorities of the EU, especially when COVID-19 is pressing more and more organisations to embrace digital transformation. Three different articles go into how the Building Blocks are making eGovernment a reality, helping SMEs develop new and innovative digital services and giving European cities the tools they need to become more sustainable.
