Technical update 8

date:  27/04/2020

EBSI development continues at a high pace with some significant advancements:

Firstly, the launch of the EBSI integration testing will enable use case applications to be integrated to EBSI. Besides the EBSI node hosting, the upcoming publication of the integration interfaces on CEF Digital is another opportunity for EBP members to use EBSI by integrating use case application pilots via the 'EBSI Common Applications' or 'Core Services and Interfaces'.

EBSI offers two connectivity methodologies:

  1. Integrate use case applications via the core services that add specific functionality on-top of the blockchain protocols, such as Self Sovereign Identity and Notarisation;
  2. Integrate use case applications directly to the blockchain protocols, using all their native functionalities within the governance of the EBSI network.

Secondly, the technology team has also evolved the architecture, making it more generic, to provide blockchain and affiliated services for an increasing number of use case applications.

And finally, new work streams kick off to enhance the existing use cases, increase the capabilities of the platform and start the decentralised technical governance definition for the production version of EBSI in 2021.
