Technical update 190220
date: 19/02/2020
The EBP members have started testing the recently released EBSI stack node (V1), which supports three use cases: European Self-Sovereign Identity Framework, Notarisation and Diplomas.
The European Commission is hosting seven nodes and the EBP members will soon host five additional ones. The technical team provides important documentation and comprehensive services to support EBP members during the testing phase.
There are two other additional external proof-of-concept applications integrated into the core infrastructure and services: the European Court of Auditors' notarisation platform for audit purposes and the IOSS TAXUD application demonstrator.
The users can now discover the following tests:
- The demonstrator (functional): discover the user journey of an European citizen using the EBSI to manage diplomas, leveraging the European Self Sovereign Identity as well as the notarisation of documents;
- Node deployment and connectivity test: deploy an EBSI node on a real infrastructure (using dummy data) and connect to the EBSI network. Users will then be able to broadcast transactions and check the status of the blockchain on the block explorer made available.
The technical team has also started evaluating and designing the future EBSI V2, expected for release in the course of this year.
