Welcome to the latest edition of the CEF Building Blocks Bulletin.

Yesterday, European Commission President von der Leyen stated that “the European budget will be the mothership of Europe’s recovery”, referencing Europe’s current collective response of €3 trillion – the most impressive crisis response in the world.

But closer to home, all of us want to help our economy and society resist the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Next week's #EUvsVirus hackathon is a chance for us all to do just that. This hackathon will address around 20 imminent coronavirus challenges to be quickly tackled across the EU (such as fast production of equipment, scaling up production capabilities, knowledge and solutions transfer from one country to another).

Tomorrow is the legal deadline for the adoption of eInvoicing at the sub-central level. We would would like to thank all those who have - and are - building innovative, cross-border eInvoicing projects and so contributed to the creation of a European Digital Single market.
