BETTER TRAINING FOR SAFER FOOD INITIATIVE - German authorities use BTSF material to run tailor-made course

From 6th to 8th November 2023, the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL) together with experts from German “Länder” authorities who had attended BTSF trainings on the Official Controls Regulation (OCR), held an online training course to disseminate the knowledge gained.

Colleagues from Germany who had attended the training on OCR, used the knowledge they gained during the courses and the material in the course dissemination kit in BTSF ACADEMY as the basis of the training. The presentations were translated to German as well as tailored to the German target group.

Around 340 employees from authorities at municipal, state and federal level took part in the online training. The training material, now in German, was also made available for further dissemination to all participants.

This is a great example of what can, and should, be done to extend the reach of BTSF training and use the translated material in the ACADEMY effectively.
