With the 107 Young Elected Politicians (YEPs) from all across Europe, who were registered for the #EURegionsWeek 2020, the YEP Programme contributed to the participation of young local leaders in the debate on a how to build a more sustainable, democratic, inclusive and greener Europe. The YEPs took part in a tailor-made programme focused on three main themes: Empowering Citizens, Cohesion and Cooperation, Green Deal. During the Opening and Closing Session of the #EURegionsWeek, the YEPs were also sharing their views on how to support the digital transformation, a greener and more gender equal Europe and how young local leaders can bring the EU closer to the citizens. During two dedicated workshops on gender parity in politics and innovative ways for citizens' participation, the YEPs were sharing their experiences from the ground. The YEP Programme culminated with the YEPs Closing Session, where young local leaders presented their main takeaways from the #EURegionsWeek and their feedback on this year’s edition.
