Report: NCC-BE inauguration event for the Belgian Cybersecurity Community

Appointed as the National Coordination Centre for Belgium, the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB) organised its first event dedicated to the Belgian Cybersecurity Community, on 30 August 2022. The event was open to all Belgian public institutions and to organisations which are legally registered in Belgium. Added to these, NCC-BE extended the invitation to the NCC Network in order to further facilitate cooperation and share best practices.

During the info session, participants could hear about the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC) framework, the Belgian governance (the role of the CCB and the NCC-BE, the Belgian Strategic Board, the local Strategic Advisory Group and so on), the upcoming European funding opportunities dedicated to cybersecurity, how organisations can benefit of these and how the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC) and the Belgian National Coordination Centre can support them in this process.
Guest-speakers highlighted the CCB and its role as the NCC-BE (Miguel De Bruycker, Managing Director of the CCB), roles, goals and tasks of the ECCC and its Governing Board (Katarzyna Prusak – Górniak, Vice-Chair of the Governing Board of the ECCC). The presentations are accessible following this link.
Reactions from participants so far indicate a high degree of interest for the event, its utility and a need for the continuation of similar event on different topics of interest to the national community. The event was also successful thanks to the considerable support coming from the NCPs and the Belgian cyber professional and academic communities. NCC-BE remains available for further details (email and website).
