The 3rd conference of the German Network of Forced Migration Researchers is taking place on 17-19 September 2020. Due to the current situation, the conference will take place online rather than at the premises of the University of Cologne. It will open an international forum to discuss current research results on forced migration, refugees and asylum. The conference will also support interdisciplinary cooperation and serve as a networking platform among researchers in the field of refugee and forced migration studies.
The conference is organised by the Chair of Youth Welfare and Social Work at the University of Cologne with the executive board of the German Network of Forced Migration Researchers and the BMBF-funded joint project "Forced Migration and Refugee Studies: Networking and Knowledge Transfer" (FFVT).
Examples of topics that will be discussed include:
- Gewalt(schutz), Agency und Vulnerabilität in Geflüchtetenunterkünften
- Examining the interplay of precarity and neoliberal governance in the labour market inclusion of refugees
- Psychische Gesundheit im Kontext von Flucht – für eine postkoloniale, antirassistische und transkulturelle Öffnung in Forschung und Praxis
- Refugee families’ participation in early childhood education: access, effects and policy implications
