The Single Market Enforcement Taskforce (SMET)
The Single Market Enforcement Taskforce (SMET) was set up in 2020 following the adoption of the Long term action plan for better implementation and enforcement of Single Market rules by the Commission and, the calls for further action on the single market by the European Council and the European Parliament. SMET aims to strengthen the implementation and enforcement of the single market rules on the ground.
The creation of the SMET is based on a renewed partnership between the Member States and the Commission by taking concrete steps to deepen and strengthen the single market and to remove the remaining unjustified barriers in it.
