Dear colleagues, I would like to share a city-level AI strategy for Stockton, California, that we just published today. Oxford Insights was engaged by the Mayor’s Office in Stockton to look into the ways that the city’s workforce will be affected by AI, and to help the city craft a forward-looking AI and Future of Work strategy. As we all know, AI technologies are changing the way that we live, work, and interact with one another and with the world. Technological advances in this field have led to concerns that AI programs may replace the need for people in some parts of the economy and cause substantial job losses. Some cities will be disproportionately affected by AI-driven automation. Stockton, California is one of them.
