The Chaves-Verín Eurocity is a pioneering project both for the Iberian Peninsula and for Europe, instantiating a new cooperation model of second generation that goes beyond institutional collaboration, and the simple sum of cooperation programs and initiatives, enhancing the assumption of the proof that it is possible to adopt a new model of European citizenship. One of the most brillant examples of this new model consists in the creation of the Eurocitizen card.
