Common term: Town or suburb; Plural: Towns and suburbs; Technical term: Intermediate density area
Short definition: towns and suburbs are areas where less than 50 % of the population lives in rural grid cells and less than 50 % of the population lives in urban centres, as used in the degree of urbanisation.
