Glossary:Prison personnel

Prison personnel includes prison guards and other staff in official penal or correctional institutions, such as prisons, reformatories or penitentiaries. Prison guards search, supervise, escort, observe and control prisoners, and maintain security of prisons. Other staff include management, education, training, health treatment, maintenance, cooking, etc.
