The Adult Education Survey (AES) covers adults’ participation in education and training (formal - FED, non-formal - NFE and informal learning - INF). The 2022 AES focuses on people aged 18-69. The reference period for the participation in education and training is the twelve months prior to the interview. Information available from the AES is grouped around the following topics:

AES 2022 data has been compiled in accordance with Eurostat's 2022 AES manual and the publication has been prepared taking into account Eurostat's data requirements. |

Overall assessment: The survey was mainly conducted by using CAPI method (and also few CATI interviews). The selection of two individuals from houses was a new application for 2022 AES and it is observed that this new implementation method has not changed the quality of survey according to previous implementation of AES. |

To obtain reliable responses, automatic checks were extended and implemented in the computer-based survey. A handbook was prepared for the survey and staff responsible for the implementation of the survey got this guide.
