Enforcement of immigration legislation data (EIL statistics) contain statistical information based on Article 5 and 7 of the Regulation (EC) No 862/2007 as amended by the Regulation (EU) 2020/851 with reference to third-country nationals:

  • refused entry at the external border,
  • found to be illegally present,
  • ordered to leave,
  • returned following an order to leave.

Calendar quarter and calendar year.

All data are uploaded to official servers and checked at three levels (monthly and annually twice). Policia Nacional is the only institution that generates the data and there are no discrepancies with other authorities.

The voluntary returns are obtained from other area of the Ministry of Interior. The other data is obtained from the own databases. All of this is combained to generate the statistic.

Each 15 days is published a new report with accumulated data and, also, there is an annual report.

Since the end of the quarter, the consolidation process could take up to a month maximum.

The data can be disaggregated by geographical areas: Strait of Gibraltar, Eastern Mediterranean and Canary Islands.
