6.1. Institutional Mandate - legal acts and other agreements
The data about the application of migration and borders legislation contains statistical information according to the articles 5 and 7 of the Reg. 862/2007, modified by the Reg. 851/2020. The Ministry of Interior, especifically Policía Nacional, is responsible of the data according with the competences stablished (LO 2/1986). The national legislation applied to the data is LO 4/2000.
6.2. Institutional Mandate - data sharing
CBS has set up a secure and automated data processing system to receive the tables from the data provider, process the data and send the statistics to Eurostat via Edamis. This system includes the "EU Asylum and Managed Migration database", as well as a tracking system, and several automated procedures for receiving and sending data. All procedures are in accordance with CBS standards in the field of data collection and processing.

The national legislation LO 7/2021 about the Personal Data Protection is applied on this data. It indicates that no data that can identify an individual person cannot be used for estatical purposes.

Only numerical data are used to create this statistics and the minimal descriptive information is used. This data is stored in secure hardware to which the responsible unit has access.
