2.1. Data description

The livestock and meat statistics are collected in accordance to Regulation (EC) No 1165/2008 since 2009. They cover slaughtering in slaughterhouses (monthly) in terms of number and carcass weight for bovines, pigs, sheep, goats and poultry and other slaughtering (annual), for sheep and goats in accordance to regulation's Annex 1.

Due to the small number of livestock population in Cyprus GIP (gross indigenous production) forecast is sent only once a year only for bovines and pigs.

Livestock statistics is sent once a year for bovines and pigs for November/December survey with reference date 31/12.

Cyprus is one region therefore NUTS1 is applied.
