Data collection on seasonal workers statistics based on Article 26 of Directive 2014/36/EU on the conditions of entry and stay of third-country nationals for the purpose of employment as seasonal workers.

The following datasets are collected under this framework:

  • Authorisations for the purpose of seasonal work by status, length of validity, economic sector and citizenship (migr_ressw1_1);
  • Authorisations issued for the purpose of seasonal work by economic sector, sex and citizenship (migr_ressw2).

Directive 2014/36/EU was transposed at national level on 26 February 2014.

Centralised national databases are used for data extraction by the data source. No specific accuracy issues have been identified.

Number of authorisations for seasonal work.

The information is compiled from an IT system which was launched in 2013. The data is extracted by the third-party company managing the system following a formal request for this data. The system is an administrative database used to register and manage Resident Permit applications. All reports related to SW data are extracted from this system.

All data is extracted from one national database and comparability in terms of geography is considered accurate with time.
