3.1. Data description
Data and metadata are transmitted to Eurostat by the Member States in the framework of the Unified Demographic Data Collection which is in accordance with Regulation (EC) 862/2007 and Regulation (EU) 1260/2013 and their implementing regulations.
The regional breakdown of the Member States in the regional demographic tables is done under the most recent NUTS classification. There are agreements between Eurostat and Candidate countries as well as between Eurostat and EFTA countries, for which statistical regions have been coded in a way that resembles NUTS. 3.4.1 Statistical concepts and definitions used in the statistics transmitted to Eurostat
One of the following definitions is used by a country when explaining the statistical concepts:
Usually resident population means all persons having their usual residence in a Member State at the reference time; for more information see the Article 2 of Regulation (EU) 1260/2013.
Legal residence population is composed of those persons who are entitled to be settled in the country at the reference date, either by holding the national citizenship or by other authorization issued by national authorities.
Registered residence population is composed of those persons who are listed on one or more registers owned by national authorities at the reference date. Each registered person shall be counted only once.

Statistical Indicators Release Calendar' of Armstat includes in advance when the statistics should be published during the year, by months, and includes a list of planned indicators.
Quarterly indicators are published on the 35th day of the month following the reference period, annual indicators are published in the 2nd quarter of the year following the reference year.
All users have equal access to statistical releases at the same time. Any privileged pre-release access for any external user is restricted and controlled. In case of an official request for information on non-published indicators by users of statistical information, additional indicators are calculated and provided to them as much as possible, while maintaining the principle of confidentiality over statistical information.

12.1. Relevance - User Needs
The main users of the statistical information are: the state government and local self-government bodies, public, scientific educational, financial organisations, business society, mass media, international organisations, etc. The information on the number of permanent population is applied to develop the strategies, to analyse the business environment, to identify the development trends and other purposes in both socio-demographic, economic and financial spheres of the country. The main users of statistical information are the RA government, academic and non-governmental organisations and individuals, regional institutions and local self government bodies, territorial and structural units of Armstat, as well as international organisations. The information is provided to the users in the case of official requests keeping the statistical confidential information limitations.
12.2. Relevance - User Satisfaction
Users needs are studied through discussions, consultations, comments on draft statistical programs, and through the 'User Satisfaction Survey questionnaire' available on Armstat website, 'User's Survey', Frequently Asked Questions. The annual statistical program of Armstat is developed based on the study of the demand of statistical information users.
12.3. Completeness
The data on the permanent population of the Republic of Armenia are available by sex, age, city Yerevan, RA marzes, urban and rural distribution, which are obtained based on the information received from the administrative sources of the Civil Status Acts Register and the State Population Register of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the information of the database formed by the results of population census.

14.1. Timeliness
According to Article 4 (2) of the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 205/2014, each year Member States shall provide the Commission (Eurostat) with data at national and regional level as described in Annex II and related standard reference metadata (in the metadata structure definition defined for the Euro SDMX Metadata Structure) for the reference year within 12 months of the end of the reference year. According to Article 3 (2) of the Commission Regulation (EU) No 862/2007, Statistics on international migration, usually resident population and acquisition of citizenship shall be supplied to the Commission (Eurostat) within 12 months of the end of the reference year.
14.2. Punctuality
Monthly, quarterly and main preliminary annual indicators and informational reports are published on the 35th day of the month following the reference period. Annual indicators are published in the 2nd quarter of the year following the reference period.

18.3. Data collection
The basis for the compilation of population number is the permanent population obtained by the results of the last 2022 census, updated according to the electronic database on the registered and de-registered population obtained from the State Population Register, provided by the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and information on vital events (recorded births, deaths, marriages, divorces), carried out from the Civil Status Register of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, on a monthly basis.
The data of registered and deregistered are subject to adjustment based on the results of Households Integrated Living Conditions Survey of the previous year, and every 10 years based on population census data.
18.4. Data validation
Often, based on the requirements of information users (including international organizations) and the need to obtain additional statistical data, the derivation of complex groups based on the information available in the database is implemented, using simultaneously some combinations of indicators available in database of the vital statistics.
18.5. Data compilation
The creation of groups, indicators, as well as time series of statistical indicators is implemented based on obtained summary data.
18.6. Adjustment
The accuracy of the data received in the reference period of the current year is measured by comparing them with the relevant data for the same period of the previous year.
The accuracy checks of completeness and logical chains of indicators received in different output tables are implemented.
