3.1.35 Is a different threshold used in the administrative source and statistical data?

Yes

3.1.36 If Yes, please specify

Trying to not impose excessive loads to the economic operators, the european legislator introduced a system of thresholds of exemption and simplification. These thresholds are expressed in annual value of the intra-community trade. Declarants are exempted to provide Intrastat information or can provide simplified information. It is important to note that the conditions and procedures of reductions envisaged by the Intrastat system apply by flow, i.e. it is necessary always to treat the arrivals independently of dispatches.

3.5. Data compilation

3.5.1 Describe the data compilation process

Data compilation is only used for the differentiation among the various domestic uses according to the following model:

  • seeds: the quantity of seeds is derived from the sown area of the same crop in N+1
  • industrial use: industrial use of barley is derived from the imports of "Malt (excl. roasted, wheat and flour)" that is used for beer production (CN 11071099)
  • losses: they represent 1% of the available quantity per crop
  • animal feedingstuff: the quantity of soft wheat and grain maize used as animal feedingstuff is calculated by deriving their content from imported feedingstuff, added by their content in national feedingstuff production and the quantity used directly on the farms. For barley, all the quantities not classified somewhere else are considered to be animal feedingstuff.
  • human consumption: the quantities of soft wheat, durum wheat and grain maize used for human consumption are calculated as follows: total use - exports - final stocks - all other uses
  • domestic use of oil crops: the quantities of sunflowers and soja for domestic use are calculated as follows: total use - exports - final stocks. In the case of rapeseed, +- 100 tons are estimated to remain for domestic use other than seeds and losses.
