The starting point of the project is to prevent exclusion of SMEs and their personnel from working life in the structural change brough on by information society. The maintenance of good working ability and competence of the personnel are increasingly important as regards the productivity of SMEs. The problems in the transfer of information between the main and sub-contractor have an effect on the labour market as well; the networking of enterprises will improve the functioning of the labour market

Tavoitteena on kehittää koulutusta ja toimintamalleja, jotka ehkäisevät ikääntyvien (yli 40-vuotiaiden) työntekijöiden syrjäytymistä ja lisäävät yritysten henkilöstön kykyä sopeutua informaatioyhteiskunnan vaatimuksiin. Projektilla pyritään parantamaan yritysten verkostoitumista, tiedonkulkua sekä työn laadun ja henkilöstön huomioimista. Tarkoituksena on keskittyä pää- ja alihankkijan välisen tiedonsiirron tehostamiseen ja pienyritysten välisen yhteistyön lisäämiseen. Johtamisjärjestelmien kehittämisessä erityisen tärkeää on työssä jaksaminen ja työkyvyn ylläpitäminen sekä kouluttautumisen mahdollistaminen. Välittöminä tuloksina projekti luo uusia ja turvaa olemassa olevia työpaikkoja, parantaa pienyritysten tuottavuutta ja kilpailukykyä sekä lisää henkilöstön osaamista ja osallisuutta.
Pienyritysten johtamisjärjestelmän kehittäminen toteutetaan järjestämällä koulutusta, yrityskohtaista konsultointia, opintomatkoja ulkomaille (mahdollisesti, kulut eivät sisälly projektin budjettiin) sekä yritystenvälisiä tapaamisia. Projektiin osallistuneet tahot voivat hyödyntää projektin aikana syntyneitä toimintamalleja omassa toiminnassaan sekä levittää niitä edelleen.

Companies involved play an active role in the project through their own training and development plan. Evaluation is done in every training session.Companies have the possibility to change ideas and good pratices in the framework of the project. Projektin lähtökohtana on estää pienyritysten ja niiden henkilöstön syrjäytyminen työelämästä tietoyhteiskunnan rakennemuutoksessa. Yritysten henkilöstön jaksaminen, hyvä työkyky ja osaaminen ylläpitäminen ovat yhä tärkeämmässä asemassa yritysten tuottavuuden kannalta. Pää- ja alihankkijan väliset tiedonkulkuongelmat sekä yritysten verkostoituminen vaikuttavat osaltaan työmarkkinoihin.
