Multireasonal marginalisation, caused by for example a non-heterosexual
or transgender identity and HIV or substance addictions, is often
invisible. Many organisations focus on combatting discrimination and
marginalisation on a specific sector, but often problems accumulate on
the same person. This project will work against multireasonal
marginalisation. Its target group is transgendered people, or
non-heterosexual people with HIV/aids, who are substance mis-users or
are otherwise disadvantaged (for example through migration, lack of
networks, homelessness, poor qualification, or financial difficulties).
The project works against multireasonal marginalisation through
empowering training, employment actions and councelling. Its target
group is transgendered people, or non-heterosexual people with HIV/aids,
who are substance mis-users or are otherwise disadvantaged (for example
through migration, lack of networks, homelessness, poor qualification,
or financial difficulties).
The project aims to support people, who are in the risk of multireasonal
marginalisation, to stay in the work life during crisis, such as coming
out as non-heterosexual or substance abuser, or when the person finds
out s/he is HIV-positive. It will help in the re-integration into labour
market those people who have been outside work life, for example when an
HIV-positive person returns from pension or a transgendered person seeks
to re-employ her/himself after the gender reassignment process.
A
specific aim of the project is to prevent the marginalisation of
non-heterosexual or transgendered young people, the mis-use of
substances and HIV infections by education and school networking. The
project will produce practices that will break the cycle of
marginalisation at an early stage.
The organisations that started the partnership have been created to
complement public services. Networking among the partners is vital to
achieve the goals of the project. Each organisation intends to increase
their knowledge on each other’s main purposes and thus ensuring that the
people who belong to the target group will receive comprehensive
services in each organisation and that the multiple problems will be
recognised and reacted to.

The individuals, who are multiply disadvantaged, have remained
invisible. This project intends to improve the situation of people with
more than one disadvantage.
The Transgender Support Center has, as a community, a unique concept of
gender. Throughout the project the main innovation is deconstructing
gender dichotomies, which is important also to work for gender equality
in general.

The beneficiaries are included in all the stages of the project, and in
all aspects of the project as full power participants.
All partners in the project work with an empowering approach. This is
done for example by using the clients as trainers and in peer support,
as well as in identity-work. In this project the aim is to help
beneficiaries to find their own strengths and supporting networks in
their own situation and uniqueness and together with work life mentors
create ways to deal with problems in their lives and to transform them
to resources.
All partners understand and affirm the absolute authority and expertise
of the clients in questions regarding their own life, and intend to
spread this attitude through the project.

JoinUs has formed a transnational cooperation called the Green Legged
Chickens (GLC) with five other Equal-projects, that also focus on hiv .
These projects are:
Agrupación de Desarrollo Empleases / Spain
Dajmy sobie prace ? Ekoszansa / Poland
Ensuring Positive Futures / UK ? Great Britain
LINK-UP / Germany
MALADIES CHRONIQUES ET EVOLUTIVES: PLURIDISCIPLINARITE ET MAINTIEN DANS
L'EMPLO / France
In the main our target group is people living with HIV (PLWH). However
this is not the case for all our partners. Also other people who
traditionally take up services of HIV/AIDS projects, e.g. drug users and
men who have sex with men belong to our target group. There are
differences in the individual target groups of each DP, e.g. people with
mental health disorders or other chronic evolutionary diseases and
non-hetrosexual or transgender people), and these target groups will be
included in the actions of the partnership.
During the two years of transnational cooperation GLC will:
? Compare working arrangements with employers and trade unions and share
methodologies
? Share cultural approaches via transnational work
? Examine the approaches to chronic illness/living with long term
medical
conditions
? Compare disability legislation and a common approach to lobbying
? Look at what approaches are used for peer support and training
? Develop and test different models of developing the employability of
PLWH
? Compare strategies and develop models for encouraging employers to
tackle HIV discrimination in the workplace

Moniperustainen syrjäytyminen, jota aiheuttaa esimerkiksi
ei-heteroseksuaalinen identiteetti tai transsukupuolisuus sekä
hiv-positiivisuus tai päihderiippuvuus, on usein näkymätöntä. Useat
toimeentulovaikeudet).
Projektissa ehkäistään moniperustaista syrjäytymistä valtaistavan
koulutuksen, työllistävien tukitoimien ja ohjauksen kautta. Kohderyhmänä
ovat transsukupuoliset tai ei-heteroseksuaalit henkilöt joilla on
päihdeongelma tai hiv-tartunta tai jokin muu syrjäytymistä aiheuttava
tekijä (kuten maahanmuuttajatausta, verkostojen puute, asunnottomuus,
heikko koulutustaso, velkaantuminen tai toimeentulovaikeudet).
Projektin tavoitteena on tukea moniperustaisen syrjäytymisvaaran uhassa
olevien henkilöiden työelämässä pysymistä erilaisissa kriisitilanteissa
kuten seksuaalisen suuntautumisen tai päihdeongelman tullessa ilmi
työpaikalla, tai kun henkilö saa tiedon hiv-positiivisuudestaan.
Tavoitteena on myös auttaa työmarkkinoille uudelleenintegroitumisessa
henkilöitä jotka ovat joutuneet syrjään työelämästä, esimerkiksi
hiv-positiivisen henkilön palatessa sairaseläkkeeltä työhön tai
transsukupuolisen henkilön työllistymistä uudessa sukupuolessaan
korjausprosessin jälkeen.
Erityisenä tavoitteena on ehkäistä
ei-heteroseksuaalisten tai transsukupuolisten nuorten syrjäytymistä,
päihteiden ongelmakäytön aloittamista ja hiv-tartuntoja esimerkiksi
koulutuksen ja oppilaitosyhteistyön kautta. Projekti pyrkii tuottamaan
työtapoja, joilla päihdeongelmaisten tai hiv-positiivisten nuorten
syrjäytymiskierre saadaan jo varhaisessa vaiheessa katkaistua.
Organisaatiot, jotka aloittivat projektin suunnittelun, ovat syntyneet
täydentämään julkisen sektorin palveluja. Verkottuminen kumppaneiden
välillä on ensiarvoisen tärkeätä, jotta projektin tavoitteet voidaan
saavuttaa. Jokaisen projektin alullepanijaorganisaation tavoitteena on
lisätä asiantuntemustaan toistensa perustehtävään nähden. Tällöin
kyetään varmistamaan, että kohderyhmään kuuluvat henkilöt (joilla on
uhka yllämainittuun moniperustaiseen syrjäytymiseen tai joilla
syrjäytyminen on jo tapahtunut) saavat kokonaisvaltaista palvelua
jokaisessa kehittämiskumppanina toimivassa organisaatiossa ja että
monitahoiset ongelmat tunnistetaan ja niihin osataan reagoida.
Moniperustaisen syrjäytymisen näkyväksi nostaminen on toistaiseksi
jäänyt liian vähälle huomiolle. Projekti pyrkii parantamaan
moninkertaisesti epäedullisessa asemassa olevien henkilöiden tilannetta.
Transtukipisteellä on yhteisönä ainutlaatuinen sukupuolikäsitys. Koko
projektin läpileikkaavana innovaationa on sukupuolidikotomioiden purku,
mikä on myös sukupuolten välisen tasa-arvotyön kannalta merkittävää.
Kohderyhmään kuuluvat henkilöt ovat mukana projektin kaikissa vaiheissa
ja kaikissa toiminnoissa läpi projektin täysivaltaisina osanottajina.
Kaikkien kehittämiskumppanien työote on jo valmiiksi valtaistavaa
toimintaa. Tämä näkyy esimerkiksi asiakkaiden käyttämisessä kouluttajina
ja tukihenkilöinä, sekä identiteettityössä. Projektissa toiminnan
tarkoituksena on saada kohderyhmään kuuluvat henkilöt löytämään
