The main project objective is to develop new approaches and solutions
that will enable ex-prisoners to access sustainable employment. The
partnership has focused on urgent need in the ex-offender sector.
Ex-offenders have extremely difficult access to the labour market after
their release from prison. Major reason for this include their lack of
education and qualification, entry in their criminal records,
unsatisfactory social and living conditions, non-existent interest of
employers to provide them with jobs etc. In the Czech Republic there is
missing a system that would link services for the target group before
and after release from the prison. There for the project has two levels:
- Developmnet of holistic system of services and advisory before and
after release from a prison in relation to life after release and
future employment. The planned activities include:
- development and testing of system that will link services for
offenders and exoffenders on their way "from prison to normal life" to
address needs of target group.
- minimal standards of developed services
- creation of system of individual support of ex-prisoners (mentoring)
- Activities focused at employers with aim to inform them and motivate
so the employment opportunities of the main target group will be
improved (information service for employers, example of good practice
etc.)

Main target group will participate in preparation and implementation of
the re-integration program. The project links different agencies and
professional working with released prisoners and with unemployed persons.

Open Windows - the overall aim is to empower prisoners, ex-prisoners,
young people in risk etc. who face exclusion and disadvantage to
(re)integrate in the labour market by developing tools and training
methods with will help them to work on their often unexplored cultural
talents and skills within field of theatre and media, in order to help
them exploit new opportunities in the labour market and to create
positive links between potential employers and the rest of society. The
main activities include: creation of transnational web, organization of
thematic seminars and study visits.
