Objective of the project (native language): 

Der pot. Flächenbedarf in Hessen für die Produktion von Soja zu Futter- und Speisezwecken übersteigt die momentane Anbaufläche Soja um ein vielfaches. Ziel des Vorhabens ist es, ein Anbausystem zu entwickeln, das die Anbausicherheit für Soja erhöht + keinen zus. Flächenbedarf aufweist bei einer gleichzeitigen Erhöhung der Biodiversität. Es wird erwartet, dass eine Einsaat von Soja in Winterweizen („on top“), welcher im Anbauverfahren „Weite Reihe“ kultiviert ist, keine neg. Auswirkung auf den Weizenertrag hat. Bei einem Mischanbau von Soja + Mais zur Futtergewinnung  als Ganzpflanzensilage wird außerdem eine Erhöhung des Proteingehaltes im Erntegut im Vergleich zum reinen Maisanbau erzielt. 

Objective of the project (in English): 

The potential area required in Hesse for the production of soybeans for feed and food purposes exceeds the current area under cultivation for soybeans.The aim of the project is therefore to develop a cultivation system that increases the cultivation safety for soybeans and does not require any additional space while at the same time increasing biodiversity. It is expected that a sowing of soy in winter wheat ('on top'), which is cultivated in the cultivation method 'wide row', has no negative effect on the wheat yield. Mixed cultivation of soybeans and maize for fodder production as whole plant silage also results in an increase in the protein content of the crop compared to pure maize cultivation.
