Nadia Calviño

Nadia Calviño has been First Deputy Prime Minister of Spain and Minister for Economy and Digitalisation since July 2021. Recently she was appointed Chair of the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC) of the International Monetary Fund with a two year mandate.

In 1994, she joined the Spanish public administration as member of the corps of State Economist and Trade Experts. She becomes Minister for Economy and Business (2018-2020) and third and second Vice-President and Minister for Economy and Digitalization (2020-2021). She was the Director General in charge of the Budget within the EU Commission and previously, she held other senior management positions in the European Commission.

She holds a degree in Economics (1991) and a degree in Law (2001).
