Overall Project Progress

Technical

    • Public consultation of eDelivery AS4 2.0 and SMP 2.0 profiles open, set to end on . No feedback received so far.
    • A significant contribution to a third party library (Apache WSS4J™ - Web Services Security for Java) is being prepared to be submitted to the library maintainers. This contribution will enable both Domibus (as of version 6.0) and all other Java-based eDelivery Access Point implementations to be able to implement support for the algorithms introduced by the new profile.
    • Domibus 5.1.1 (significant) bug fix release postponed to the  in order to include the latest fixes introduced in 5.0.7 and a further postponement might be required due to additional bugs recently detected.
    • Domibus 5.2 RC development activities ongoing in parallel, but the roadmap of 2024-2025 may have to be reviewed in light of the extensive work required for Domibus 5.0.6, 5.0.7 and 5.1.1 patch releases.
    • DomiSML 4.3 RC released on the . DomiSML 4.3 FR is planned for .
    • With the migration to the new conformance testing platform complete, work is ongoing to:
      • strengthen the testing of the eDelivery Common Profile (the mandatory part of the profile that is implemented by all conformant products)
      • extend the tests to allow software vendors and service providers to test their products/services also against all the optional parts of the eDelivery AS4 1.15 profile, as currently only 2 (of 6) such optional profile parts are testable.

Miscellaneous

    • Significant developments:
      • DIGIT provided the last round of comments to the draft Implementing Regulation for eFTI and will discuss them with DG MOVE.
      • DIGIT preparing to send comments to a Luxembourg-led study about eDelivery to ensure the building block is correctly portrayed.
      • DIGIT received a request for collaboration from the eArchiving building block in order to technically support and, on a communication level, promote the eArchiving building block to institutional users of eDelivery who may have this requirement.
    • Project support:
      • Initial request to support collection of statistics in Peppol was reworked into a generic approach (to be implemented) in order to support statistics collection in any project.
      • Request to support qualified certificate received (indirectly) from the Belgian federal government. Under analysis, but it may involve cooperation with the eSignature building block.

Onboarding & Communication

    • The eDelivery newsletter no. 5 was circulated on with 1352 recipients: https://europa.eu/!pKrxHN (about 12% increase in subscribers compared to the previous issue circulated in June 2023).
    • The eDelivery webinar on eDelivery value proposition planned for has 133 registered participants (the largest audience so far).

    • eDelivery invited to support events:

      • IHE-Europe Experience Days 2023 with a presentation on interoperability in sectors other than health

SMT - workload details:

The number of handled SMT tickets increased in August 2023 compared to the previous month, while the number of opened SMT tickets remained stable during the last 4 months. Requests from are questions on Domibus and the different plugins, Domibus migration and migration scripts, AS4 connectivity test issues, etc.  


Email interaction:

For eDelivery, received mails were related to:

  • Requests for AS4 connectivity test with Skyport
  • Conformance test request for RIM Reporting Interface Module (RIM) V2 with new GITB conformance testing platform
  • Project with Poland Ministry of Digital Affairs and with EPPO: meeting organised and technical questions answered
  • Questions from users: Domibus (issues with large attachments, Domibus on Docker, upgrade from 4.2.9 to 5.0, questions on WS plugin, multitenancy and plugins, issue with message stuck in WAITING_FOR_REPLY in admin console), SML/SMP (SMP/SMK certificate update/renewal, participants registration on SML), PKI certificates (EPREL, ECDB, UDB and EUDAMED), Peppol question on AS4 implementation and signing of AS4 Error messages, TAPAS (ICS2 connectivity test assistance requests (re-directed to the National service desks), AS4 connection issue with Air France KLM)
  • There was a total of 580 emails in the FMB. We have removed 62 emails for SML Inconsistency and 7 emails from PKI CommisSign from the count, which makes a total of 511 received mails for the reporting month.

In August  2023, 6 certificates were issued: 1 ECDB and 6 EPREL.
