Technical Progress

Specifications: eDelivery AS4, SMP, BDXL, ebCore Party Id Profiles

  • In follow-up with ENISA, change request for the inclusion of EdDSA in the (formerly SOG-IS, currently ECCG) Agreed Cryptographic Mechanisms document will be prepared and submitted by DIGIT.
    • This will require a new collaboration with the cryptography professor that supported the preparation of the eDelivery AS4 2.0 specifications in 2022.
  • Following the remark during the Interoperability Forum concerning the incorrect use of Two-Way MEP in Domibus and the incorrect validation thereof in the conformance testing platform, a technical analysis took place and both the conformance testing platform and Domibus will be updated by the end of the year to address the issue.

Software product: Domibus

  • The release of Domibus 5.1.8, which includes improvements to the pull mechanism and other bug fixes, had to be postponed due to the required upgrade to DSS library version 5.13.1. This upgrade is necessary to support TLv6 by June this year. As well as the need to analysis 3rd party reported vulnerabilities. The release is now planned for .
  • Domibus 5.2 RC development work is ongoing, again with the progress severely hampered during the reporting period due to effort required to maintain the currently supported Domibus product lines (5.0.X and 5.1.X) along with the documented capacity constraints it has been decided to further postponed the Domibus 5.2 RC to Q4 2025 and FR to Q4 2025.

Software product: DomiSMP

  • DomiSMP 5.2 RC development work to be initiated on the .

      • Support for Dynamic discovery testing
      • Support Pull Profile testing
      • Several bug fixes
  • The standalone tool that will provide limited self-testing/self-validation support to solution providers preparing 2.0-conformant solutions (eDelivery2 AS4 Security Validator) is ready and will be published by the end of May.

SMT - workload details

The number of handled, opened and resolved SNOW tickets is slightly decreasing since February 2025 after a significant increase in July 2024 and the months after. This can be explained by the fact that there are less request to renew expired eDelivery PKI Certificates as they are progressively being renewed. Questions from users are questions on Docker, Domibus migration (database migration issues and others), plugins, conformance and connectivity tests requests and questions, questions on Domibus/DomiSMP etc. JIRA internal tasks concern SML and Domibus releases, new TomCat cluster environment for SML 5.0 in CIPA E-DELIVERY, some maintenance tasks on the infrastructure (Ubuntu and Rundeck updates, Dedicated data disk set up in TESOPROD01 for the Connectivity Testing Domibus and SMP), etc.
