<h2>Description</h2>

<p>The “Europe goes Once-Only” event series accelerates the onboarding of national competent authorities to the Once-Only Technical System. It brings experts working on Once-Only from all over Europe directly to the Member States to discuss, learn and overcome challenges together.</p>

<p>“Europe goes Once-Only – Portugal edition” is organised under the motto “Facing challenges <i>together</i>”. In this spirit, this event brings together <strong>competent authorities</strong> connecting to Once-Only with the <strong>national and Commission teams</strong> implementing this system. At the heart of this event are six interactive workshop tracks that will allow participants to understand how to onboard to Once-Only, share the challenges they face and collaboratively work on concrete solutions to overcome them.</p>

<p>Four<p>At workshopthe tracksstart areof tailoredthe toevent, <strong>competent authorities</strong>, namely <strong>newcomers<a <strong>newcomers track</strong> andwill thoseprovide inall theevent <strong>population,participants educationwith anda business domains</strong>. Two additional tracks will support <strong>national teams</strong> in <strong>preparing for live transactions</strong> and rolling out Once-Only services and provide a chance to discuss “hot topics”.</p>

<p>This event will also showcase <strong>national initiatives related to Once-Only</strong>, such as Mosaico and the Portuguese Digital Wallet. Finally, it will explore key issues related to <strong>User Experience</strong> as well as <strong>accessibility and usability</strong>common understanding of the Once-Only Technical System and the issues it addresses. Afterwards, <strong>competent authorities</strong> will be able to join one of three tracks tailored to their domains, namely <strong>population, education, </strong>and<strong> business and professional qualifications</strong>. Two additional tracks will support <strong>national teams</strong> in <strong>preparing for live transactions</strong> and rolling out Once-Only services and provide a chance to discuss “<strong>hot topics</strong>”.</p>

<br><strong>Track 6session will provide participants with a clear understanding of the Once-Only Technical System, including its benefits for citizens, businesses, and competent authorities (i.e., the public administrations connecting to the system to exchange documents and data, known as 'evidence'). By the end of this session, participants will know what problems the OOTS addresses and understand their role in relation to the system - namely, whether they act as a requester or provider of the evidence exchanged through the system, or both. <br>Facilitator: <i>Nils McGrath, DIGIT, European Commission</i>  
<br><br><strong>Track 5: Go-live - OOTS and the EUDI Wallet:</strong> While the implementation of OOTS is still ongoing, Member States have the additional challenge to implement the new EUDI Wallet. This session will present an overview of work done by the OOTS -EUDI Wallet Contact Group including the identification of two types of synergies: user experience synergies and investment synergies, as well as validating the investment synergies in a proof-of-concept.  Some of the synergies have recently been addressed in Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1569 of 29 July 2025 on qualified electronic attestations of attributes and electronic attestations of attributes provided by or on behalf of a public sector body responsible for an authentic source.  This session will give an overview of the work on synergies and discuss approaches Member States are taking to implement OOTS and EUDI Wallet in an efficient way that maximises value for users, notably including the reuse of eDelivery Access Points.<br>Facilitator: <i>Pim van der Eijk, DIGIT, European Commission</i>

<strong>Track 2: Population:</strong> Over the course of two days, this track will allow population registers to identify use cases for evidence exchanges, including discussions on the handling of cases where data is not complete. Participants will have the chance to exchange information on their go-live roadmaps and explore the conclusions of an ongoing consultation with population data providers on evidence requirements. This track will also discuss the evidence mapping framework and next steps for exchanging structured data.
<br><br><strong>Track 3: Education:</strong> This track will invite Member States to demo their implementations in the education domain to showcase what the future experience will be like for users. Participants will then work on defining evidence requirements in this domain. This track will also discuss the evidence mapping framework and next steps for exchanging structured data.
<br><br><strong>Track 4: Business and professional qualifications:</strong> This track is aimed at competent authorities in the business domain as well as authorities dealing with professional qualifications. First, it will allow participants to discuss the mapping of evidences on procedures related to the Professional Qualifications Directive. Second, it will be a chance to discuss procedures related to temporary cross-border provisions as well as cross-border establishments under the Services Directive. This workshop will also explore the EU Company Certificate.
<br><br><strong>Track 5: Go-live:</strong> This session will allow national implementation teams to continue the discussion on updates to the Acceleratormeter, including the new approach on tracking the onboarding of competent authorities.
