22 november 2011

Cybercrime, terrorism and data protection were three of the issues discussed when the EU and the United States met for the biannual ministerial meeting on Justice and Home Affairs issues Monday. Commissioners Cecilia Malmström and Viviane Reding, together with the Polish and Danish EU presidencies, met with Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano and Attorney General Eric Holder from the US side in Washington D.C.

Participants also discussed new sanctions against Iran as well as the run-up to the 2012 US election. The yearly summit between the EU and the US will be held in Washington D.C. on 28 November.
