Conference in Zaragoza reviews progress towards trans-European transport network

Speaking in Zaragoza at the opening of a three-day conference on the trans-European transport network (TEN-T), Vice-President Siim Kallas presented the Commission's proposed new methodology for TEN-T planning, and mentioned some findings from the latest progress report.
He also reiterated the priorities of EU transport policy, including better EastWest links, increased efficiency and environmental performance, effective infrastructure planning, and leveraging R&D to develop intelligent transport systems.
