The European Commission Representation in the United Kingdom is offering project grants for initiatives by higher education establishments, think tanks and other not-for profit organisations to promote debate and raise awareness of the EU's political priorities. Before applying for this call, please ensure you are eligible and can fully meet our specifications.

Note to previous applicants: both the specification and some forms have changed since last year. Please take care to read all instructions thoroughly.

A. Call for proposals
This is the specification of the call. It includes everything you need to know about the grants available, the objectives of the call, deadlines, the types of project we are looking to fund and what we expect from you. Please read it carefully (click here). msw8 - 158 KB [158 KB]

B. Application form
Please fill in your application form clearly and concisely, avoiding repetition, jargon or verbiage (click here). msw8 - 81 KB [81 KB]

C. Budget form
This is your estimated budget. Please fill in all required fields and ensure that total estimated costs equal total sources of funding (click here). excel8book - 98 KB [98 KB]

C1. Model Budget
This is a model of a balanced budget. It's included here as an example only, to help applicants fill in their budget forms correctly. Please note your estimated budget may look significantly different. That's fine as long as it is balanced and all rules regarding grant size and co-financing rates are adhered to (click here pdf - 16 KB [16 KB] ).

D. Declaration of honour
This form certifies that you meet the eligibility criteria and have the financial and operational capacity to carry out the proposed project (click here msw8 - 71 KB [71 KB] ).

E. Acknowledgement of receipt
This form proves to you and us that your application was received on time. We will sign and return it you once we have received your application (click here msw8 - 36 KB [36 KB] ).

In order to give you a grant we need to be sure of your legal status. And we must be able to pay you money into a single bank account. There are two forms to fill in. Officially, you do not have to complete either until a grant offer has been made. But if you do it now, it will save time later. Note that if you have already received a grant from the Commission, you will already have sent us these forms. Unless your legal status or bank details have changed, you don't need to do so again.

F. Legal entity form
There is a privacy statement on this website and a choice of three legal entity forms. Please choose the appropriate one for your organisation (click here).

G. Financial identification form
Everyone needs to fill in this form (unless you have done it in the past and your bank details haven't changed) (click here pdf - 57 KB [57 KB] ).

H. Checklist
Please complete the checklist to ensure you have included all the required documents in your application (click here msw8 - 40 KB [40 KB] ).

I. Model grant agreement
This is a model of the agreement successful applicants will be asked to sign with the Commission. It's included here for information purposes and the final version may change. Please DO NOT sign or return this agreement (click here pdf - 670 KB [670 KB] ).

J. Final financial statement form
Successful applicants will have to fill in a final financial statement once the project has been completed. The final financial statement is used to compare estimated costs and funding to actual costs and funding. Please DO NOT complete it at this stage (click here excel8book - 98 KB [98 KB] ).

The deadline for sending us your application form and all the required preliminary documentation (the submission set) is 30 May 2014.
