Help ‘shape the future’ of the EU bioeconomy at the EFIB congress in September
Building on a successful 2012 event, the European Forum for Industrial Biotechnology (EFIB) aims to deliver a bigger and even better diary date in 2013. Organisers EuropaBio and Smithers Rapra are planning an ambitious EU bioeconomy congress from 30 September to 2 October 2013 at the SQUARE venue in Brussels.
The Prime Minister of Belgium, Elio di Rupo will welcome the participants and Dr Rudolf Strohmeier, Deputy Director General, DG Research and Innovation will set the stage with a keynote policy speech. Commissioner Máire Geoghegan-Quinn will give a video address. Other speakers are drawn from a wide range of policy-makers, academics and industrial leaders and the congress offers a high-level platform for stakeholders from these sectors to come together and build the common and innovative viewpoints and motivation to take the EU bioeconomy forward.
Over 1000 bioeconomy professionals are expected to attend – learning, debating and meeting about the future of this flourishing sector. On the agenda are plenary sessions, roundtables, an exhibition and a technology showcase feature. Exact details of the parallel sessions will become available over the coming months.
