The completion of a major new transport project is expected to help boost the economic competitiveness of Wrocław and surrounding areas.

The investment reflects the increased number of vehicles using local routes, and aims to make the area around Wrocław more accessible and reduce travel times for local inhabitants.
As well as reducing congestion, it is intended that the new road will boost growth and make it more attractive to invest in the Wrocław agglomeration, by making it easier to travel to areas around the city.
The project has also raised the quality of life by increasing the comfort of travel, as well as improving road safety and minimising noise, accidents and pollution in Wrocław.
Major infrastructure
Construction work on the 8.4 km stretch linking National Road 94 and Regional Road 455 has been completed and is now operational.
The technical scope of the infrastructure development includes the construction of three bridges, two overpasses; roundabouts; a two‑level interchange (road viaduct with a roundabout); road and railway viaducts; and associated infrastructure (animal crossings,culverts, noise barriers, drainage, upgrading of collision infrastructure).
The new road is, in fact, part of a much larger infrastructure project, the A4-S8 Agglomeration Link, the total cost of which is about EUR 200 million and which has been split into four stages.
Total investment and EU funding
Total investment for the "Construction of a regional road from National Road 94 to Regional Road 455 and interchanges" project is EUR 81 390 996, of which the EU’s European Regional Development Fund is contributing EUR 40 695 498, from the "Lower Silesia” Operational Programme, for the 2007 to 2013 programming period, under priority axis "Transport".
