Community Innovation Statistics - Is Europe growing more innovative? - Issue number 61/2007 - Products Statistics in Focus

Innovation plays a key role in Europe. In 2004, more than 4 out of 10 EU-27 enterprises in the industry were engaged in innovation activity. Germany was, among the EU Member States, the leader in innovation, both in industry and in services. In the European Union as a whole, more than one third (35.9%) of innovative enterprises introduced new or significantly improved products to the market.
