R&D in higher education and government - Issue number 35/2007 - Products Statistics in Focus

The Statistics in Focus publication delineates the R&D performance in the public sectors (Higher education and government) with regard to R&D expenditure and personnel. The R&D intensity of the public sectors is shown as well as the R&D personnel and researchers, with their stock and growth rates. Most of the R&D personnel in Europe is highly qualified. About one third of the European public researchers works in natural sciences.
