The DABLAS Task Force was set up in November 2001 with the aim to provide a platform for co-operation for the protection of water and water-related ecosystems in the Danube and Black Sea Region. This was in response to an EC Communication adopted in 2001, which highlighted priority actions required to improve the environmental situation in the region. |
It is our pleasure to announce that the European Commission has awarded another contract to support investment activities in the water sector. This programme started in early 2009 and will last for two years, carrying out activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia. The DABLAS TF Secretariat would also like to announce that the next DABLAS Task Force meeting is provisionally scheduled in Brussels, in November 2009 For more information, please see the latest DABLAS Newsletter. |
WelcomeThe DABLAS Task Force comprises a number of representatives from the countries in the region, the International Commission for the Protection of the River Danube (ICPDR), the Black Sea Commission, International Financing Institutions (IFIs), the EC, interested EU Member States, other bilateral donors and other regional/ international organisations with relevant functions. The European Commission DG Environment holds the Secretariat of the Task Force. The main function of the process is to encourage a more strategic focus to the use of available financing, and to ensure co-ordinated action between all financial instruments operating in the region. |
