EMAS Case Studies

The Case Studies' pages are a single entry point to best practices in the implementation of the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) in different types of organisations from all over the EU.

On these pages, organisations are offered an easy way to learn from the experience of other EMAS registered organisations within their area of economic activity.

Each case study starts with a little background on the organisation and its activities, and continues with the reasons why it decided to apply to EMAS. Readers will then find an overall appraisal presenting the benefits of EMAS to the organisation, but also the challenges encountered during implementation. Finally, attention is drawn to the benefits of EMAS for this particular organisation.

This page will be regularly updated with new examples when they become available. An organisation can submit a new case study by filling in this template and submitting it to the EMAS Helpdesk.

To access a particular case study please click on the links listed below by sector of activity. The NACE sector indicates the economic activity of the EMAS registered organisation following the list of NACE codes in Regulation 1893/2006 (Rev.2).
