MISSOC is an indispensable online information source offering timely and comparable insights into the social protection systems of European countries.

The information comes from a network of officials from national ministries and institutions responsible for administering social protection which is coordinated by the MISSOC Secretariat on behalf of the European Commission.

The MISSOC database can be consulted in English, French and German.

 Changes in the database

Please note that to facilitate comparison, the information on the self-employed is progressively being integrated into the comparative database.

Concretely, it is being moved to the end of each relevant table (or risk).

For example, details on maternity benefits for the self-employed are progressively being moved to the end of Table IV on maternity/paternity.

This update marks the first instance where MISSOC information on the self-employed has been integrated into the database. Previous updates (back to July 2017) will be gradually incorporated as well.
