| Welcome to a historical documentation
on the creation of the Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) in
Europe and the role of the Commission in this process.
This historical documentation
contains major documents leading towards a single currency in
Europe. By including, among others, internal preparatory
documents, it also shows the discussions and the role which the
European Commission played in this process. The documentation as
it stands does not claim to be a complete compilation of all
documents relating to the introduction of a single currency in
the European Union.
