Launched on 15 July, an ambitious new survey aims to explore the role of NGOs and networks in supporting youth participation in democratic life in the EU.
Carried out by Ecorys, the survey will help gather new evidence on how young people engage in decision making at European, national and local levels, and to better understand the value and contribution of EU funding. It will also examine the new trends in participation, including the role of online youth movements. The survey is part of a wider European Commission initiative to inform about the rollout of the European Youth Strategy 2019-2027, and in particular the objective of engaging with young people.
This survey follows the latest Eurobarometer results of April 2019, which showed that while younger generations continue to take an active interest in political and social issues, the ways in which they participate are becoming ever more diverse.
The survey is open to all youth NGOs and networks operating in Europe, and will run until the end of August.
