Objective of Agreement The objective of the present Agreement is, on the basis of non-discrimination and reciprocity, to facilitate and promote trade in wine originating in the Community and in Australia on the conditions provided for in this Agreement.
Remarks This agreement replaces the one signed in 1994. The new agreement safeguards the EU's wine labeling regime, gives full protection to EU geographical indications, including for wines intended for export to third countries, and includes a clear Australian commitment to protect EU traditional expressions.
