Six years into its creation, the EU Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis has proven its added value beyond economies of scale and the pooling of funds. To date, the Trust Fund has mobilised €2.3 billion, including voluntary contributions from 21 EU Member States, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
Large programmes focusing on education, livelihoods, health, protection, and the water sector – benefitting refugees, IDPs and local communities - have been approved by the Fund’s Board, for a total of €2.2 billion. Of this, more than €2 billion have been contracted in more than 90 projects to the Trust Fund’s implementing partners on the ground, supporting more than 7 million beneficiaries.
