The Trust Fund has made monitoring and evaluation an integral part of its work. Every six months it presents the key findings of indepth results monitoring - in addition to quarterly information notes. There have been evaluations of the Trust Fund impact in various sectors, including health, education, water and sanitation, as well as around livelihoods. The EUTF projects platform provides detailed information about all the funded projects´ results, as well as basic information and reports. It shows how the projects help meet the Trust Fund´s Key Performance Indicators, described in its Results and Strategic Outcome Frameworks (see documents below).
The EU Trust Fund has established a comprehensive and effective Monitoring and Evaluation mechanism aimed at:
- Conducting regular and ad-hoc monitoring visits to Trust Fund projects in order to develop recommendations for successful implementation, and provide evidence-based knowledge on the results and outputs through the use of SMART qualitative and quantitative indicators.
- Assessing the effectiveness of the Trust Fund projects at thematic and geographic level through centralised data collection and analysis based on the inputs received by project partners and sector/country analysis.
- Assessing the sustainability, efficiency and effectiveness of Trust Fund programmes and evaluate prospects of impact through external portfolio evaluation.
