European Commission encourages women to work in the transport sector
Currently only 22% of transport workers are women. Transport Commissioner Violeta Bulc met a few of them, as well as employers, academics and policy makers, to discuss what could be done to attract more women to the sector, at a time when technological progress opens up new opportunities. Please find below testimonials from female transport workers as well as the conclusions from the conferences organised to discuss the topic.
The tools put in place at EU level to stimulate female employment in transport can be found on Women in Transport - EU Platform for Change.
