Survey to help the EC to understand passenger preferences for future liquids carriage through EU airports

Consultation period: 23/06/2016 - 31/08/2016

The European Commission is looking at how best to enhance airport security and allow the future carriage of liquids through airports.

New technologies have been developed to screen liquids to enable them to be carried by passengers, and trials are taking place with this equipment to better understand the impact on the passenger experience and airport operations. The Commission, in conjunction with o&i consulting, would like to understand what type of liquids passengers would choose to carry, if permitted, when they fly.

Please note that there are no plans to change the current legislation whereby passengers travelling from EU airports are permitted to carry liquids less than 100ml in a one litre clear plastic bag and/or medicines, liquids for special dietary requirements and duty-free liquids that are sealed in special security-tamper evident bags (STEBS).
