Driving change for business and people

Road transport is vital for the EU's economy: It carries more freight and more passengers than all other modes combined, and it provides jobs for 10.6 million people. But we have identified ways to help road transport become more efficient, fairer and cleaner. This contributes directly to the Commission's priorities of Jobs and Growth, the Digital Single Market and Energy Union.

The themes of the Road Transport Strategy

A well-functioning internal market
Fair competition and workers' rights
Digital technologies
