Martin Stefanowski

Biography

Martin Stefqanovski is a professional swimmer who has participated in numerous major international competitions, including the Balkan Games, European and World Championships, the World University Olympic Games and the Olympic Games.

Tomislav Jotovski

Biography

Tomislav is a Macedonian tennis player who has been awarded first place in the ATP F10 Georgia and has participated in Wimbledon Junior and Roland Garros Junior Grand Slam. This year he is joining the EWoS Ambassadors team for North Macedonia, aiming to reach out to young athletes & inspire them to realise their goals and continue to be successful as they learn and grow. He is a local hero that continues to empower young children with all kinds of disabilities, physical and mental, to continue to work towards their dreams.

Drita Islami

Biography

Professional athlete born 1996, since 2009 she has trained in professional track and field, representing North Macedonia in European and World sports events, including the Olympics Games in Rio de Janeiro 2016. She was awarded best athlete in North Macedonia 8 years in a row, from 2010 until 2019, best athlete of the city Skopje 2017,2018,2019., 9 times National Champion, 8 National Records. Drita is an athlete that inspires social cohesion within the country and is fighting for young girls, no matter what their religion or background to continue reaching their goals.

Jelena Antic

Biography

Jelena is a female basketball player, who is involved in and plays for the National Basketball Federation of North Macedonia. She has been recognised for her numerous achievements and is a great inspiration for young girls in the country. She was a captain of the Senior National team of Macedonia and is also a youth coach working with young girls on a local level to continue searching for their goals and reaching their full capacities. She is a great inspiration for gender equality in sport and is joining the EWoS Ambassadors to continue to spread hope to young girls that they can reach their goals.

Monika Stefanovska

Biography

Monika is an athlete that has inspired a large number of girls to not be discouraged to take part in the man’s world, she is a karate champion and has reached 3rd place on a European level which was a wonderful success story for North Macedonia as well as the female population. She is an inspiration to girls, working towards gender equality in sport and paving the way for females in the sport sector. This year together with the NCB she will be working towards breaking down local barriers in respect to gender and religion in order to inspire everyone to continue being recreation and active and reach for their goals.

Dejan Manaskov

Biography

Dejan is a Macedonian handball player for Telekom Veszprém and the North Macedonian national team. He is a great handball player that is an inspiration to a lot of young people in the country, giving them something to look up to as well as to fight for. He has reached great success through his hard work, training and for never giving up. This year we are proud to have him as an Ambassador who will spread the message of the be active campaign on a local, regional, national and international level.

Jump and Get Active

An activitiy that the Agency has implemented 2 years in a row, became tradition and this year, the Agency in collaboration with National Federations, clubs, ambassadors, and sport professionals will inspire individuals from all ages to come out and jump together. The goal is to get individuals active and show them that even with the pandemic and health restrictions we can stay safe and be active.

BeActive Night
Skopje, Ohrid, and a few other locations

BeActive Night will be taking place online as well as possibly on MTV (channel 3) for the wider audience to join in and be active. Our ambassadors, a few clubs and national federations will join in the schedule and perform a diverse range of sport and recreational activities to inspire individuals from home to join in on the fun. The idea is to get people active in their own homes and present some challenging activities that they can participate in from the comfort of their home against different individuals throughout the country. The live presentations by our sport professionals will be recorded from Boris Trajkovski (the largest sport center in North Macedonia) located in Skopje as well as from Ohrid. There will also be musical sport events, where a few starts from North Macedonia will sign and be active inspiring everyone from home to get up and move. A link for zoom will be provided for all participants to join in for each activitiy starting at 18:00 and ending at 22:00 in the evening.

European School Sport Day
Shtip, Strumica, Resen, Radovish, Mavrovo, Kratovo, Jegunovce, Zelino, Dolneni, and Debar Municipalities in North Macedonia

During the school day, the national coordinating body in collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders, local clubs, physical educators, sport professionals, ambassadors and athletes will be organizing 10 different events with primary school children presenting their favorite sport activities of their schools. The events will be recorded and made visible on our websites to share with the wider public and inspire all young children to get be inspired and creative while being active. Each school will also register on the on the official website, www.essd.eu, in order to share their videos on the website as well as take part of another event organized in collaboration with the Federation of Sport Pedagogue from North Macedonia.

Climb and get active
Skopje, (Vodno Mountain Range)

In order to stay safe, stay 2 meters away and still get active, the Agency in collaboration with sport clubs, national federations and sport professionals will be organizing a climb 5 kg climb where a group of 6 people will have 1 ambassador leading them at a distance from the next group and as each group gets to the middle of the mountain range Vodno, there will be stations where up to 3 people will be able to take part and participate in different sport challenges. This way the activity will get individuals active while they stay safe.
