Andreas Onea´s career highlight was the bronze medal in Swimming at the Paralympics in Rio. As #BeActive Ambassador he wants Austrians to be fitter, more self-confident and happier: "Being active means development; it´s the foundation of our lives."

Janine Flock is an Austrian Olympic skeleton racer, silver medal at the 2016 World Championship.

#BeActive Schnupperwoche - free trial week
all over Austria (approximately 200 sports clubs)

Sports clubs are opening their courses/classes during the European Week of Sport. All are welcome to both join and become a member afterwards. Approximately 1.500 courses/classes will be part of this initiative. The event takes place the entire week.

#BeActive Tryouts

The #BeActive Tryouts will take place for the first time in 2020, mainly to inspire young people and motivate them to try out different sports. Due to Covid-19-restrictions, this initiative will not be carried out as an event - as initially planned - but online.

Training videos for a wide variety of sports will be made available online during the European Week of Sports: Gymnastics, Swimming, Racketlon, Floorball, Baseball, Tabletennis, Fistball, Frisbee, Canoe, Sleding, Rowing, Judo, Squash, Archery, Handball, Bavarian Curling, Roller sport, Skeleton, Darts, Bowling, American Football, Tennis, Bike, Fencing. With the #BeActive Tryouts, the network of elite sport federations, their clubs and athletes will be integrated into the European Week of Sports. Tryouts will take place over the entire week.

Lustenau, Bregenz, Imst, Innsbruck, Wals, Salzburg, Klagenfurt, St. Peter am Bichl, Gallizien, Linz, Deutschlandsberg, Graz, St. Ruprecht an der Raab, Göpfritz an der Wild, Ravelsbach, Stegersbach, Mattersburg, Neusiedl am See, Zurndorf, Vienna / Austria

27 events all over Austria will offer a variety of 55 sports and forms of activity - from A like Aikido to Z like Zumba. Everybody is invited to participate to start actively into the Saturday night.

European School Sport Day
54 schools in Austria (6 in each federal state)

Since the Austrian ESSD-flagship event had to be canceled (due to Covid-19), an alternative implementation of the ESSD will be carried out: This year the ESSD will take place in 54 locations and implemented in cooperation with the successfull initiative "Kinder gesund bewegen 2.0" ("Healthy active children 2.0") - thus in cooperation with schools and sports clubs.

European Fitness Badge Workshop

The European Fitness Badge was developed during an Erasmus+ project. It is a fitness badge with three levels and therefore an effective instrument to enhance the awareness of adults for the importance of a health enhancing fitness status. The workshop on 22nd-23rd of September targets at staff of grassroot sport federations and the company sport to inform and train trainers. Afterwards these new EFB-experts will be sent out to offer testings in sports clubs, companies and during different events. The event takes place 22-23 September 2020.

'It´s a man´s world' - women in company sports
Vienna, Austria

The Austrian Company Sport Federation focuses this year on Gender roles in company sports. Next to their Social Media campaign and a series of interviews to strengthen female role models and empower women in company sports, but also play with Gender clichés and prejudices, a talk titled 'It´s a man´s world!' will conclude the campaign.
