This year's EU Sport Forum took place in Milan on 1-2 December and gathered around 300 participants. Among them were leading representatives from international and European sport federations, the Olympic movement, European and national sport umbrella organisations and other sport-related organisations.
Tibor Navracsics, new Commissioner for Education, Culture, Youth and Sport, opened the Forum, together with Italian Minister Graziano Delrio and the Chair of the CULT committee in the European Parliament, Ms Silvia Costa.
The first two sessions of the Forum focused on the implementation of Erasmus+: Sport and on the results of the 2012 Preparatory Action in the field of sport. The Commissioner then took part in a high-level debate on the future of sport at EU level, followed by an information session on the future European Week of Sport. The day ended with a signing ceremony, celebrating the first partners of the European Week of Sport (see Session 4), which will take place in September 2015.
On the second day, the Forum sessions focused on the presentation of EU studies, the role of multi-sport clubs and the economic and social impact of major sport events.
More information on the discussions is available in the forum report .
