Webinar: Higher apprenticeships and higher vocational education and training

On 11 May, 15:00−16:00 CEST, the European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA) will hold a webinar on the topic of higher apprenticeships and higher vocational education and training (VET).

In the last two decades, VET and apprenticeships have expanded and opened up in many ways. One of the most significant developments has been the opening of VET to tertiary education, including higher apprenticeships.

Higher apprenticeships in Europe exist at different levels and in different forms. Although participant numbers are still low, they have been growing steadily. Higher education institutions consider higher apprenticeships an attractive option that offers more labour-market-relevant qualifications, and governments promote them to raise the attractiveness of apprenticeship systems.

This EAfA webinar will provide an overview of higher apprenticeships in Europe, focusing on good practice examples from France. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about recent developments in that area and discuss challenges and solutions.

The event will be moderated by Letizia Vicentini, Senior Consultant at Ecorys.

The webinar will have the following speakers:

  • Tim Schreiber, Policy Officer at the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, European Commission;
  • Jörg Markowitsch, Senior Partner at 3s Research & Consulting, Austria;
  • Stéphanie Devèze, Deputy Head of the Department of Training and Employment at the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, France.

As usual, after the presentations, the moderator will open the floor to questions from the audience.
