EaSI workshop on access to finance for the Romanian microfinance sector

The European Union is sponsoring a microfinance workshop under the EaSI Technical Assistance Programme titled “Lessons learned from access to finance and the relationship with the investors of the Romanian Microfinance sector”, which will take place at Hotel Mercure Bucharest Unirii on 24 June 2021.

The workshop is aiming at engaging participants in the exchange of knowledge and good practices between Romanian Microfinance Institutions’ representatives and speakers from other European countries.

Moreover, participants will be able to learn from the experiences of the representatives of the European Investment Fund and CoopEst/Helenos, in the context of the new funding programme InvestEU (2021-2027), and in particular its Social Investment and Skills Window.

The workshop is funded by the EU programme for Employment and Social Innovation (EaSI) and participation is free of charge.

The main objectives of the workshop are:

  • Offer a broader perspective on European programmes for the development of the microfinance sector.
  • Present up-to-date information on the process of accessing financial resources and technical assistance, as well as financial programmes and available tools to support sustainable development of national microfinance sectors.

The workshop is organised in cooperation with the Romanian MicroFinance Association (MF Association) for over 50 participants. As to comply with challenges of the global pandemic, the event will take place in a hybrid format: direct participation (face to face) and online.

Other European microfinance providers, either selected as EaSI Technical Assistance beneficiaries or interested to apply for the programme can contact the EaSI Technical Assistance Secretariat to request the participation in or organisation of similar events.
